Hayden Kosater breaks 2 team records at Senior Sectionals
Hayden Kosater broke the 17-18 Men's 200 Free-1:44.93 and the 500 Free-4:48.68 this past weekend in Nashville, TN (3/5-7/10). He paricipated at the Southern Zone Senior Sectional meet. Good Job Hayden!

Georgia 14 & Under Championships 2/26-2/28/10
Swim Macon places 3rd in the Division 2!! Our swimmers scored 516 points altogether. Marco Leo won 2 State titles (11-12 Boys 50 and 100 Breast). 8 Team records were broken, 5 by Leo; 200 IM-2:10.94, 100 Fly-58.86, 50 Breast-30.03, 100 free-53.65, and 100 Breast-1:05.37. Bryan Lee also broke 3 team records; the Boys 11-12 200 Back-2:21.50, 1,000 Free-10:57.13, and the 200 Fly-2:17.53.
Alessandro Leo scored 112 points for the team with a fantastic performance in the Boys 10 & Under age group. Niki Johnston placed 4th in the Girls 13-14 1,000 Free. Caty Hulsey also placed in the top 16 in 2 events in the 13-14 Girls 200 IM and 200 Breast. Tyler Sakir also swam 100% Best times!
Our relays scored big points at the meet accounting for 190 points.

Swim Macon swimmer earns NSISC Scholar-Athlete honors
Congratulations to Joey Morgan who swims for Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi. He was selected as an NSISC Scholar Athlete. He is a sophomore at the DSU majoring in Sports Management. His cumulative GPA had to exceed 3.0. Joey is a Swim Macon team record holder and was a senior sectional qualifier for SMAC. Swim Macon is proud of Joey for showing his dedication to academics while participating as a collegiate athlete. Great Job Joey!

SCAT Last Chance Meet 2/20-21
Great Job to our swimmers for posting 108 best times at the meet, that is a 82% success rate! Our swimmers won 4 events; Kike Afolabi-Brown (13-14 200 Free), Tristan Hichkad (11-12 100 Back) and Tyler Sakir (11-12 100 IM and 500 Free). Swim Macon swimmer is the Player Spotlight in February
Anna Myers is featured as the player spotlight in In the Game Magazine for the month of February. The FPD senior swims in the senior group with Swim Macon and we are thrilled that she was picked for the publication. She is not only featured, but was also chosen as the cover for the issue. Way to Go Anna!

GISA State Championships 2/6/10
Swim Macon had a great showing at the GISA State championships this past weekend. 27 of our athletes swam/or moved up a motivational standard. Meredith Barrington (Varsity Girls 100 Fly), Gerald Johnston (JV Boys 50 Back), Hayden Kosater (Varsity 100 Boys Back), and Jessika Weiss (Varsity Girls 100 Breast) all won individual GISA State Titles. The Mount De Sales relay team of Madison Kosater, Jessika Weiss, Dana Stockslager and Kike Afolabi-Brown won both the 200 Medley and 200 Freestyle relays. Swim Macon swimmers had 46 Top 8 finishes at the meet. 5 of those were in the Varsity Girls 500 alone. Great job swimmers!

Columbus Hurricane's Groundhog Invitational 2/5-2/6/10
Swim Macon places 2nd at the Columbus Hurricanes Groundhog Invitational this past weekend. Our swimmers swam 43 best times at the meet. Anthony Korobenikov was awarded the 10 & under boys High Point winner. Andrew Kernich left the meet with 3 State cuts and individual wins in 6 different events. Other event winners include Michaela Hichkad (13-14 Girls 200 Fly). Anthony Korobenikov (9-10 Boys 100 Free, 50 Breast), and Abigail Smith (9-10 Girls 500 Free). Baylee Cheyney and Anthony both got 100% best times at the meet. Great Job Swimmers!

TARA Invitational 1/23-1/24/10
The team swam 110 best times for a percentage of 69%. 3 team records were broken at the meet. Marco Leo broke his boys 11-12 records in the 50 Free-25.06, 200 Breast-2:26.18, and the 400 IM-4:42.64.
Hallie Boatright, Baylee Cheyney, Francesca Leo, MacKenzie Melton, Jacob Ricks, and Gabrila Rosales all got 100% best times. Baylee Cheyney swam her first “B” time in the 50 Free for 13-14 girls.

Stingrays Coaches Invite 1/15-1/17/10
Congratulations to all of our swimmers who participated in the Stingrays Invitational this past weekend! The team swam 106 best times for a percentage of 68%. 9 team records were broken at the meet. Caty Hulsey (pictured on the left) broke the girls 13-14 records in the 200 free-1:55.64, 100 Back-1:03.17, and the 200 IM-2:10.49. She also got her first AAAA times in those events. Marco Leo broke the boys 11-12 records in the 200 Free-1:57.37, 500 Free-5:20.69, 100 Breast-1:05.95, 100 Fly-59.99, 100 IM-1:00.70, and the 200 IM-2:11.78 and set 2 meet records.
Our swimmers won 21 events at the meet; Caty, Marco, Niki Johnston, and Alessandro Leo all won individual titles. Our 11-12 Boys won the 200 Medley Relay at the meet.

Georgia Senior State Championships 12/11-12/13/09
Our Senior State Team accomplished 23 out of 26 best times at the meet. It was a 88% success rate. Caty Hulsey, Hayden Kosater, Marco Leo, Evan Place, and Ben Scurry all got 100% best times at the meet. Hayden Kosater broke the team record in the 15-16 Boys 500 Yard Freestyle, made a AAAA time in the 200 Free and made multiple Senior Sectional cuts. Marco Leo broke the 11-12 Boys 100 and 200 Breaststrokes. Evan Place got AAA "All-Star" times this weekend also. Both Hayden and Evan (Pictured on the left) made finals at the meet. Tidal Waves Invite 12/4-12/6/09
Sydney Everett, Robert Jimison, Benji Johnston, Hanny Marone, MacKenzie Melton, and Tyler Sakir all accomplished 100% best times at the meet. Our swimmers won 12 events. Caty Hulsey became the first girl to break 2:00 in the 200 free in 6 years. Benji Johnston got his first “B” time.

Lanier Fall Invitational 11/7-11/9
Swim Macon had 92 personal best times at this meet. Which was a 62% success rate for the meet. Mary Brett Anderson, Alessandro Leo, Ellie Minette, Alex Power, Tyler Sakir all accomplished 100% best times this weekend. Both our 11-12 Boys and Senior Girls won their 200 Free Relays at the meet. Marco Leo broke the 100 IM and tied the 50 Free Team records for 11-12 Boys.

SCAT Fall Invitational
Swim Macon had 93 personal best times at this meet. Which was a 66% success rate for the meet. Not bad considering this was 3 meets in a row for our swimmers. 4 Team records were broken at the meet. Bryan Lee broke the 1650 yard freestyle team record for 11-12 boys with a time of 18:52.85. Marco Leo continued his tam record breaking streak again at this meet with 3 more team records; 50 Breast - 30.41, 100 Breast - 1:07.25, and the 400 IM - 4:49.26. Aiden Hichkad recieved the high point award for 8 & Under boys for the second meet in a row.

Swim Macon Fair Day Meet 10-10-09 Congratulations to all our swimmers who swam the meet this weekend. We had 117 best times at the meet. which was a 71% success rate. Swim Macon accomplished 63 best times out of 82 swims this past weekend in Columbus, Georgia. That is over 77% best times. Vivianna Chang, John Drinkwater, Aiden Hichkad, Andrew Kernich, Marco Leo, Tyler Sakir and Abigail Smith were 100% best times for the meet. Aiden Hichkad (Pictured) was the 8 & under Boys High Point winner at the meet. Alessandro Leo, Andrew Kernich and Ben Barwick were 1-2-3 in the 10 & under boys 200 Free. Marco Leo was also a high point winner for the 11-12 boys. He set 6 team records at the meet. The 200 Free, 500 Free, 50 Breast, 200 Breast, 100 Fly, and 200 IM.

Marco Leo makes Zone Championship History
Marco Leo places 7th in the 11-12 Boys 100 Meter Breaststroke. He set a new team record in the event with a time of 1:16.68 at Prelims. He was part of Georgia's 11-12 Boys Medley Relay team that placed 1st in the event and set a new Southern Zone Championship record. He swam the breaststroke leg on the relay.

SENIOR STATE State Team: Meredith Barrington, Maggie Fritze, Hayden Kosater, Anna Myers, and Evan Place
Swim Macon just completed a very successful Senior State Championships at UGA. SMAC Swimmers swam 26 out of 29 Best Times at the meet.
Hayden Kosater made his first Senior Sectional cuts in the 50 and 400 free and just missed the 800 free cut time (2 hundreths of a second). His 400 free swim was a new team record. Joey Morgan improved his team record in the Senior 100 back. Evan Place finaled in the 200m Fly and swam best times in all of his events. Meredith Barrington also swam best times in the 100 free, 100 fly and 400 free. Anna Myers just missed the team record in the 50m Breast.

Marco Leo made the 2009 Georgia Zone Team that will be competing in Orlando, Florida. He also became the 2009 State Champion in the 200 Meter Breast for the 11-12 age group.
Niki Johnston made 2 Senior Sectional Qualifying Times in the 800 and 1500 meter freestyles.
Niki, Bryan Lee and Alessandro Leo also placed in the Top 10 in multiple events.
